Market Day is an action packed day featuring hundreds of stalls, lots of freebies and thousands of students all out and about finding what to do on campus and enjoying the atmosphere. Students that join UQBA on Market Day receive a BizPass as well as a UQBA branded tote bag, packed with promotional materials and goodies from our social and corporate sponsors.
The UQBA Launch Party is the first major social event for the year, traditionally held on the Sunday before classes begin, with an estimated 250 students set to attend. The Launch Party invites all new members who joined UQBA on Market Day to commemorate the new academic year and for potential social partners to showcase their services directly to UQBA members.
The Pub Crawl is UQBA’s premier social event in Semester One. 200 members will be given the opportunity to celebrate the start of their mid-semester break, with a generous food and beverage package, provided courtesy of UQBA. UQBA invites social partners to showcase their venue to our members, as a destination in our Pub Crawl itinerary.
Once a semester UQBA host a sausage and bevarage stall at UQ. This is a great opportunity to grab a cheap, tasty lunch, speak to current UQBA executive members, and enjoy the sunshine and atmosphere of the St Lucia campus.
Held typically toward the end of second semester, the UQBA Annual Business Ball is the society’s flagship event and a night for students to celebrate a successful year. Regarded as the biggest and best student-organised ball in Queensland, the Annual Business Ball has been awarded Ball of the year by the UQ Union for the past three consecutive years (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021).
The UQBA End of Year Party is the final event in the UQBA social calendar. Held on the Saturday immediately following the completion of final exams, this event is highly anticipated by students to celebrate the official end of the academic year.
Membership with UQBA provides access to deals at an extensive range of retail, nightlife and food/beverage locations as well as cheaper access to all of our social and corporate events.
